1. Controller
The app is developed and distributed by Marco Montinari, an individual based in Italy. Contact: ciao@quadernodelprof.com. We are the controller only for data you send us yourself, for example by email (section 8). Data you enter in the app never reaches us.
2. What stays on the device
Everything you enter is stored only on your iPhone, in the app’s private storage, which is excluded from iCloud and computer backups and is never synced. This includes your profile, schools, classes, timetable, events, tests, syllabus, reminders; students (first name and surname initial only); notes, oral tests (how each question went, no grades) and parent meetings; for students with special educational needs, only a "BES" flag and a short note on classroom measures (the app asks you not to enter diagnoses or health data); and reward cards, which only count numbers. App settings are stored separately in the app’s preferences and contain no student data. The app is protected by Face ID or device passcode, on by default.
3. What appears outside the app, on the device
The optional week widget, the lesson/test in progress (Dynamic Island and Lock Screen) and local reminders can show class, subject, room, test dates and remaining minutes; reminders also show the titles you write. They never show student names or notes (unless you type them into a title), but they are visible without Face ID. You can turn each of them off. To do this, the app keeps a reduced copy of the timetable in a space shared only with its own widgets; it contains no student data and, unlike the main storage, may be included in the device’s iCloud backup.
4. What we don’t do
No account, no login. The app does not connect to the internet. No analytics, ads, tracking, cookies or third-party SDKs. No AI reads your content. We do not sell or share data, because we never receive any. Apple may process its own data through the App Store and iOS under Apple’s Privacy Policy.
5. When data leaves the app (only if you choose)
- Calendar: if you turn on "Add to calendar" (off by default), title, date, time and room of events, tests and, optionally, lessons are written to the calendars you pick. Never student names or notes. From then on they follow your calendar provider’s rules and are no longer protected by the app lock. The app only edits and deletes events it created.
- Backup: "Export backup" creates a file with all app data, including student data, shared via the iOS share sheet. The file is not encrypted: keep it safe.
- PDF summary: a class summary with short student names, notes, oral tests, the syllabus and, optionally, parent meetings, created on device and shared only by you.
6. Permissions
Face ID (app lock; the app only receives a yes/no result), Notifications (reminders you set), Calendar (only if you turn on "Add to calendar"). No access to location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or health data.
7. Students and schools
Teachers enter student data for their work. Typically the school is the controller of that data and the teacher acts as an authorised person. We have no access to it. The app is intended for teachers, not for students or children.
8. If you email us
We use your address and message only to reply (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR) and delete them within 24 months of the last exchange. Please do not send student data.
9. Your rights
For data you send us you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability (Arts. 15–21 GDPR) at ciao@quadernodelprof.com. We reply within one month. You may lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (garanteprivacy.it) or your local authority.
10. Retention and deletion
Data stays on your device until you delete it: delete single items, use "Erase all data" in Settings (also removes calendar events created by the app), or uninstall the app. Since data is not in iCloud backups, it cannot be recovered if you lose your phone without an exported backup.
11. Website
quadernodelprof.com is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., which processes technical data such as IP address and browser type to operate and protect the site. The site uses no cookies, no profiling analytics, no ads and no third-party content.
12. Changes
Updates are published on this page with a new date and, if they affect how the app handles data, mentioned in the App Store release notes.
